ueno bank becomes the official bank of the Volunteer Firefighters
In a gesture of commitment and solidarity, ueno bank announces its strategic alliance with the Volunteer Firefighters Corps of Paraguay (CBVP) to become its official bank. As part of this collaboration, ueno bank joins the traditional National Firefighters’ Collection with a series of innovative initiatives to facilitate donations.
This alliance seeks to simplify and modernize the way citizens can support the invaluable work of the more than 10,000 firefighters—organized in more than 120 firefighter stations across the country, distributed in 15 Departments and 140 Districts—who serve with commitment, courage, and discipline.
“It is a great joy for us to be the first bank for the Volunteer Firefighters of Paraguay. By joining the yellow firefighters, we are not only facilitating a collection; we are multiplying the possibilities for citizens throughout the country to demonstrate their solidarity in a way that is quick and accessible to all. We want to be where people need us,” said Diana Mongelós, director of ueno bank.
Alliance Actions
Anyone who wishes to donate can do so quickly and securely through the ueno bank app, in the “Payment of Services” section, or through the donation option at the 763 TEDs distributed throughout the country.
In addition, upay, as the official processor, has provided POS devices to firefighters so they can receive card donations in 44 locations across the country. During the collection, the use of these POS devices will have zero commission. This is the first digital collection, which includes the possibility of donating on different devices and platforms.
The alliance also includes other inter-institutional collaboration actions such as providing financial education and strengthening the technological infrastructure of the Volunteer Firefighters. César Berea, director of Upay, highlighted the role of technology in this initiative: “The work of firefighters deserves our utmost admiration. That’s why we made our POS devices available to facilitate donations regardless of whether donors have cash or not. We want donating to be as simple and fast as paying at any store,” he added.
This campaign seeks to engage more than 2 million Ueno Bank customers in the charitable initiative. It also invites the more than 5,400 Vázquez Group employees to be the first to donate through the app.
“With this partnership, we are taking a historic step toward modernizing our fundraising methods, making it easier for every citizen to contribute based on trust, transparency, and innovation. We are volunteers, but we are professionals. And thanks to this collection, together we truly do more,” said Capt. Gen. Lorena Canan, national president of the CBVP.
